Born in Acqui Terme (AL), 1th August 1987

  • May 2017: Ph.D. in Environmental Engineering, achieved cum laude at the Politecnico di Torino DIATI department. Thesis: “Advances in the space-time analysis of rainfall extremes”. Advisors: Prof. Pierluigi Claps and Ing. Paola Allamano. [Link]
  • June 2015 – December 2015: Visiting PhD Student at the Water Research Center of the School of Civil and Environmental Engineering, University of New South Wales, Sydney, Australia. Research topic: characterization of extreme rainfall with TRMM and GPM satellite products. Tutor: Prof. Ashish Sharma.
  • October 2013: Qualification for the Practice of Civil-Environmental Engineering profession.
  • March 2013: Master’s Degree in Environmental Engineering, Land Protection specialization, achieved at the Politecnico di Torino. Thesis: “Combined use of weather radar and ground measurements for a real-time estimation of areal rainfalls”. Advisors: Prof. Pierluigi Claps and Prof. Francesco Laio.

  • November 2018 – Present:  Managing the “AiDi – Atlante idrologico italiano” project (Claps P., A. Libertino) in the field of the Italian Flood Group (“Gruppo Alluvioni”), aimed at offering to the community a wide open hydrological dataset for the italian territory (http://www.gruppoalluvioni.it/aidi/).
  • March 2015 – December 2015: [STRADA 2.0 Project – Action 5] Research activities with the CiNiD research group for the spatialization of extreme rainfall in Piemonte and the definition of the IDF curves, aimed at updating ARPA Piemonte Atlas of Extreme Rainfalls.
  • January 2012 – December 2013: [Project: Preliminary flood risk analysis in small municipalities] Field work and preliminary analysis of the flood risk in two municipalities in the South of Italy. Team leader of the work group dealing with topography and hydraulic simulations with HEC-RAS.
