Abstract Format & Submission

Participants who wish to give a presentation should submit an abstract compiled and formatted in the way described below. Abstracts that do not meet the format or layout or are received after the deadline date will not be processed!
A hard copy of the abstract must be mailed or faxed to the Programme Committee Chair.

1. Style

Abstracts should be short, clear, concise and written in English with correct spelling and good sentence structure. Mathematical symbols and equations must be typed in, and metric symbols should be used. Figures should not be
included.

Follow this example in preparing your abstract. Type all lines flush left(!) (1) Type title of conrtibution in capital letters and in bold (optional). (2) Leave one blank line after the title block. (3) Type author(s) followed directly by abbreviation (number/symbol) of corresponding affiliation. Underline or "bold" the name of the author who will present the paper. Type corresponding affiliations in next line and add e-mail or fax number in the next line. (4) Leave one blank line after the author- and- affiliation block. (5) Type text of abstract flush left and right (justified). Mathematical symbols should be typed in. Metric (SI) symbols be used.

3. Text Processing

3.1. LaTeX
Use the EGS Abstract
LaTeX Macro for automatic editing and formatting of your abstract and submit just the TeX file as is online or per mail on a data medium (see below).

3.2. Plain ASCII & Word Processing

Complete your Abstract Submittal Information Message first and then add or attach either

  • the text of your abstract in plain ASCII, since the EGS Office will format your text!
  • the Word or WordPerfect File of your edited and formatted abstract; however, only Word/WordPerfect for PCs are acceptable!
  • the PostScript or PDF File of your abstract edited and formatted with some other word processing software, incl. Word/WordPerfect for MACS!

Attention: We recommend that you print out your abstract before submission, in order to check the correct format and the content.

4. Submission

Please submit your information preferably electronically online, or by mail on a data medium or in hard copy, camera-ready format to the addresses below, and mail or telefax a hard copy to the programme committee chair.

5. Acknowledgement

Authors whose abstract has been received and successfully processed will receive
an acknowledgement regarding the receipt and status of their contribution!
